Merry Christmas!

It is hard to believe that the end of the year is already upon us and it's the holiday season again! The year has definitely gone by fast!
We, of course, celebrated the season with our annual Christmas party. The party included dancing (as every NES party does), a Magic show and concluded with a special visit from Santa!

The other day Ron came in and wanted us to help him find a good hair salon to get his hair colored. He wanted to get something special done for Christmas. Today he came in to show us his new do...

If that is not the Christmas Spirit then I don't know what is!

We hope that you all have a wonderful Holiday Season and we look forward to working with you in the new year!

October Events

October was an active month! In addition to the normal activities out in the community, we also had two large activities:

Earlier in October, the University of Utah LDS Institute sponsored the Utah Disability Pride Parade. It gave our clients the opportunity to meet individuals from other providers and make new friends.

We finally ended the month with the Halloween party. There were a variety of games includingPin the Nose on Neil and the Bean Bag Toss, but it was clear that the part everyone enjoyed the most was the dancing.

Welcome to Our New and Improved Blog!

In an effort to keep everyone more involved with and informed of all the goings on here at NES, we promise to do better at keeping this blog up to date!

This month we will be having our annual Halloween Party. It will be held on October 29 from 12 PM to 3 PM at the NES Office. There will be dancing, games and treats. Everyone is welcome, so please come and join us!
Don't forget your costume and your dancing shoes!

We are pleased to inform all of you that we have a new Host Home program. We are happy to welcome our newest Host Home to the NES Family:

Brent Forti, Roger Cottam and Ernest Bohne

Last month in our Day Program, clients had the opportunity to work at The Bike Collective, a local bike shop here in Salt Lake City. Clients were able to help build and fix bikes as well as learn about bicycle safety.

Chris D'Oliver

We give a special thanks to The Bike Collective for allowing us to come and learn from them. It was a wonderful experience and everyone had a great time!

This month the Day Program will be working at the Food Co-op. They will help organize all the food, clean and fill boxes with food to be taken out into the community. Pictures of this activity and more will be posted next month.

Also this month, our friends from UAID Utah Association for Intellectual Disabilities came to visit us. UAID offers a large amount of support to our clients. One large event that they sponsor is the Sub for Santa every Christmas. The Sub for Santa gives community members the opportunity to get involved and also allows some of our clients to have a wonderful Christmas.
